Project Based Learning

Purpose and Objectives

Santee Project-Based Learning

CFF provides financial support and expertise to the Santee School District as they expand the use of Project Based Learning at the PRIDE Academy and Pepper Drive as well as additional schools. We will be successful when the Santee district staff and the teachers at selected schools routinely utilize project-based learning in their classrooms.

Background

Santee Project-Based Learning

CFF has been collaborating with Santee since 2004 on their QZAB bond-funded technology improvements and their UCLA SEEDS teacher development activities. CFF has also worked with the Santee Educational Foundation to assist them in directing funds for technology improvements across several schools in the district.

Implementation

Santee Project-Based Learning

In the summer of 2009, Classroom of the Future Foundation received $15,000 from SDG&E to support Santee’s PRIDE Academy teachers to attend a teacher development program offered by the Buck Institute held at the University of San Diego. A small amount was used to support the CFF Innovation Office for consulting and facilitation with Santee leadership and teachers.
