The Fourth Annual College & Career Pathways Summit will be held on Tuesday, September 17th from 8:30am-2:00pm at National University’s Spectrum Center. The summit is presented by the Classroom of the Future Foundation (CFF) and the San Diego County Office of Education.
Since CFF’s establishment in 1997, preparing students to be our future workforce has always been central to the identity of our organization. With the understanding that almost a third of our students nationwide leave high school without the skills necessary to succeed in college or the workforce and that 43,000 young adults in San Diego are disconnected, CFF believes it’s critical to expand college and career pathway opportunities for all San Diego students.
For this reason, we are convening the Fourth Annual College & Career Pathways Summit and bringing education, business, and community leaders in our region together again for the next chapter of this important movement.
The summit will feature a keynote presentation, and include an amazing group of panelists, breakout session presenters, and lots of networking. The event will also offer two receptions over breakfast and lunch, with space for exhibitors to showcase their products, services, and industry.
The learning objectives of the summit are:
- To understand the transformation continuum for college and career readiness and how it can change outcomes for students
- To understand how preparing our teachers for infusing the world of work in the classroom and exposing teachers and students to work-based learning opportunities can help students overcome obstacles in achieving their educational potential
- To understand the latest professional, best practice research on career pathways and work-based learning opportunities in classrooms today
- To understand the role industry can plan in transforming students lives by providing every learner with a relevant experience to be future ready
