Classroom of the Future Foundation Announces New Strategic Direction
November 21, 2016 – San Diego, CA – The Classroom of the Future Foundation (CFF) announced this morning that the organization has adopted a new strategic direction for the next five years. The following refined mission statement, new vision statement and strategic imperatives were unanimously approved by the Board of Directors:
Mission: To unite business, community, and educational leaders in creating innovative learning environments in San Diego County public schools that prepare our students to thrive in a competitive, global society.
Vision: Every student is prepared to pursue their dreams.
Strategic Imperative A: We seek to become a go-to resource for information about innovative practices that promote personalized learning, and the effective use of technology in the classroom, with a focus on educator capacity-building and matching business expertise with the needs of schools.
Strategic Imperative B: We seek to lead the community in establishing more career pathway opportunities for San Diego students, with a focus on providing best practices, career experiences for students, educator capacity-building, and fostering partnerships between school districts and businesses.
Last May, CFF established an aggressive strategic planning process to refine its mission, develop a new vision and set a strategic direction for the organization for the next five years. The process utilized surveys, focus groups and position maps completed by key stakeholders (educators, business leaders, nonprofit partners, and students) to create recommendations on the future direction of CFF. In September, the organization hosted its inaugural Career Pathways Summit to bring school districts together with local businesses to identify new ways to link education to the world of work.
“CFF plans to continue to build on the nearly two decades of experience we have bringing innovative learning practices to school settings by redoubling our efforts to support educators in using technology in the classroom,” said CFF Chief Executive Officer James Wright. “The process of refocusing our organizational framework has enabled us to refine our current programming and identify opportunities for new projects so that we can continue to be the go-to resource for personalized learning and career pathways in San Diego.”
CFF plans to host additional workshops on engaging students in STEM learning and career pathways in the spring.
