Support for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) was in full force in October during the San Diego Science Alliance’s High Tech Fair. The event was attended by leading science and engineering companies in San Diego, student, parents, universities and nonprofits. The Classroom of the Future Foundation (CFF) was a proud attendee of the event as well.

The key benefits of the High Tech Fair are that it provides local students with the opportunity to meet with over 60 exhibitors, professionals can share their passion and expertise with students, and students will be able to act on opportunities (i.e. robotics clubs, science fair project ideas, competitions) they learn about at the event. In addition, teachers will be able to make connections for classroom opportunities during that school year.

GenentechAmong the sponsors and exhibitors were Genentech, Lockheed Martin, ViaSat, Northrop Grumman, UTC Aerospace Systems, Microsoft, Cox Communications, SDG&E, and many more local and national companies. Exhibitors were grouped according to the type of research or development in which they are engaged: Biotech, Energy & CleanTech, Conservation & Environment, Aerospace & Engineering, HealthTech, InfoTech, and Robotics. The exhibitors representing the STEM learning groups provided hands-on interactive demonstrations of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math concepts students are learning about in school.
