SeaPerch San Diego Regional Competition

Location: Kearny Mesa Pool
Date: Saturday, April 4th, 2026
Time: You and your teams should plan to be at the competition from 9am to 3pm. In March, we will communicate with you and your team, with an assigned team # and an assigned morning time slot for registration. If you would like us to accommodate your team due to traveling constraints, please email us at seaperchsandiego@gmail.com.
What to bring: The team’s ROV, and your own tools for troubleshooting mechanical issues on the day of the competition. We often offer concessions, but recommend teams bring snacks/drinks as well. The weather can vary in April so it is a good idea for students to dress in layers, bring a hat, and wear sunscreen.
Rules and Regulations
SeaPerch San Diego will follow the National SeaPerch rules and regulations as closely as possible for the competition. Please use seaperch.org/competition and seaperch.org/2026-challenge as a reference. Open Teams have CNC’d parts (including 3D Printed parts on the ROV frame) and teams spend over $25 in addition to the kit.
Technical Design Report Submission
SeaPerch San Diego requires all teams to submit their Technical Design Report (TDR) 2 weeks prior to the competition. Each team’s Technical Design Report needs to be submitted to this form by: Friday March 27, 2026. Teams who have not submitted their TDR by the March 27th deadline will not be scored.
Registration
The 2026 registration page is still under development but will be ready in mid-February. But you can reserve your team’s spot until we get the actual registration link up and running by filling out the Google Form at https://forms.gle/vp8L1eS9iyz6Csec6
