Project-RED-300x98Although educational technology best practices have a significant positive impact, they are not always widely and consistently applied. Effective technology implementation in schools is complex, with hundreds of interrelated factors playing a part. A failure of just one factor can seriously impact the success of the project.

The Classroom of the Future Foundation’s (CFF) TeamRED Collaborative Partnership was established in 2013 to prevent these failures and to bring a systematic approach to technology implementation to partner school districts.

The purpose of the partnership is to take an innovative, research-based approach to implementing standards and integrating technology, with the goal of realizing dramatic improvements in student achievement.

To this end, CFF facilitates quarterly TeamRED meetings in which factors of effective technology implementation are explored, best practices are shared, and space is provided for partner school districts to learn from each other. In addition, CFF provides one on one coaching to partner school districts to assist them in advancing their technology and standards implementation.

The TeamRED Collaborative Partnership is supported by Tom Greaves of the Greaves Group LLC, and Barbara Allen, CFF Program Consultant. Tom has 48 years of experience in the computer industry and is recognized as a visionary in the conceptualization, design, engineering, and marketing of 1:1 technologies for schools and Project RED. Barbara has an extensive background in educational technology, having served as the Chief Information and Technology Officer for the San Diego Unified School District, as well as the Director of Project LemonLINK in Lemon Grove School District.

About ProjectRED

The TeamRED Collaborative Partnership utilizes the nationally recognized Project RED approach, which is focused on properly implemented education technology and continuous access to a computing device for each student.

In 2010, Project RED conducted the first large-scale national study of 1000 schools to identify and prioritize over 100 factors that make some U.S. K-12 technology implementations perform dramatically better than others. This led to the Technology Factor report and a set of tools including the 1500 line item RED Design Gantt chart. These resources outline the steps a district must take to ensure success.
