Innovative learning in San Diego County is best achieved through teamwork from business, community and education leaders. This is why the Classroom of the Future Foundation (CFF) hosted a community reception for the new San Diego County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Paul Gothold, on Wednesday, October 4, 2017.

The networking event brought together San Diego County Superintendents, board members and leaders from the San Diego County Office of Education, Presidents and Deans from our local higher education institutions, as well as government, industry, military, and community leaders.

In addition to meeting Dr. Gothold and networking with other leaders from the community, guests enjoyed delectable appetizers, refreshing drinks, and live musical performances by a student mariachi band from the South Bay and the World Music Ensemble from San Diego Mesa College.

The two hour event was filled with excitement for the future of public education in San Diego County!

The event also included a short program, moderated by Drew Schlosberg from the San Diego Union-Tribune. Speakers included James Wright, CEO of the Classroom of the Future Foundation; Dr. David Andrews, President of National University; Dr. Michael Cunningham Chancellor of National University; Chanelle Hawken, Vice President of Government and Public Relations at Cox Communications; Rick Shea, President of the San Diego County Board of Education; and Dr. Paul Gothold, Superintendent of Schools for the San Diego County Office of Education.

This event would not have been possible without the generous support of our reception sponsors, including Cox Communications, G Force Global Technologies, SDG&E, California VEBA, Technology in Education, Mission Federal Credit Union, Networld Solutions, San Diego County Credit Union, CherryRoad Technologies, CDWG, CALSA, Vivi, and Curriculum Associates.
